eTrac Security & Confidentiality
The information provided below is a summary of some of the steps we have taken to insure the confidentiality and security of information
on eTrac. In addition to these steps, all of the data is within the USC - AIS data center which has security reviewed and audited periodically.
Technical Security Information:
- The Web Server Security is using the highest level of security protocols currently available.
- All Browser-to-Web Server communication is secure and is encrypted.
- All Web Server-to-Data Server communication is secure.
- No data resides on the Web Server. All browser pages are built dynamically and do not reside anywhere.
eTrac System Security Information:
- The employee is required to "opt-in" and set up their PIN before any information becomes available to the employee.
- The employee can "opt-out" and their information can be made unavailable to eTrac.
- PIN Setup is complex by design. This is to ensure that only the employee can set up his/her own PIN. It is also set up to
discourage hacking and make breaking in more difficult.
- PIN's are encrypted and not available for inquiry.
- Access to eTrac is disabled after five unsuccessful attempts to log in or set up your PIN.
